New year, new classes, along with the smell of new books. 50 lakh 20 thousand 791 new books were handed over to the students of the district through the book festival on the first day of the new year, Monday (January 1). They are very happy to get the book. And the concerned officials are also satisfied by handing over books to them.
In Jessore this year there was a demand of 13 lakh 39 thousand 551 pieces of books for primary schools. The district primary education office has got 100% of it. And at secondary level there was a demand of 36 lakh 81 thousand 240 pieces of books. Out of which all the books have arrived except the eighth and ninth class English books. On the first day of the year today, the book has been delivered to all the students through the book festival.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abraul Hasan Majumdar inaugurated the book festival at Jessore Government Girls School at 10 am. At this time he handed over new books to the students. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Khaleda Khatun Rekha, District Secondary Education Officer Mahfuzul Hossain, Headmaster of Government Girls School Narayan Chandra Debnath were present on the occasion.
